"Saturday delivered a great halter show for the CCA and I have to thank all the stewards who made the day work so smoothly.

Mark Norman and Sophie our ring stewards, Kate Brookes recording the awards, Heather Lester in charge of the rosettes/sashes

and gift cards, Tom and Wendy Scott for lending their luxurious van and Nigel Retallack managing the show field.

 

I also thank the sash sponsors, Sarah Caldwell, The Human Vet and Allen Muriel, Cornish Alpaca Shearing.

 

Many members visited who were not competing some whom I met for the first time.

Several of our members were showing for the first time and competed well.

It was a real pleasure when judging stopped for lunch, to wander around and see members having picnics, chatting and enjoying themselves with their alpacas."

"On Saturday I was kindly invited to judge the Cornwall Camelid Association show at St Austell.

Such a friendly relaxed atmosphere and a great opportunity to share judging decisions and have the time to offer an educational aspect to alpaca judging .

This society actively promotes inclusion and education with its members and exhibitors.

This maybe a small show but the standard was very good with some established breeders and great to see new breeders at their first show

asking questions and learning. Thank you to Sandra Muriel and Nigel Retallack for making Scott and I most welcome.

Supreme champion was well deserved and an outstanding male and huge credit to the reserve Supreme at seven years old exhibiting fleece traits

equally to those many years his junior .Judges choice to a new exhibitor with a lovely grey junior male.
