The Cornwall Camelid Association is a friendly group whose main purpose is to support members with advice on all aspects of alpaca ownership.

We run a number of events during the year which include a social event in Jan/Feb which is our Christmas party and AGM combined, an Autumn veterinary day and other workshops focussing on fibre, fleece, spinning and alpaca products.  An active Committee work hard to ensure members are kept abreast of updates, events and share knowledge.

One of the highlights of the year is our own alpaca halter show which is held at Griggs Store near St Austell on the first Bank Holiday in May. We have a BAS qualified Judge and it is a great opportunity to meet other breeders and their animals. As the rosettes are awarded, the judge also gives a verbal reasoning as to why each animal has been placed so it is very informative and, of course, great fun.

In 2020, we added a fleece show, open to BAS members across the country which will act as a qualifier for the BAS National Champion of Champions Show each year.

As a group we do try and keep all our events as informal as possible so they are enjoyable and a good opportunity to make new friends.
